Daddys arms

I am honestly struggling to type at this present moment as I have spent all weekend trying to get adhesive from polystyrene tiles off of the hallway ceiling. It is thankfully all done and the plasterer is coming tomorrow to make it look all shiny and new. Unfortunately my arms aren't feeling like new but I am looking a bit shiny from all the steam.

If anyone is ever thinking of doing this job I would seriously advise you to either a) think again b) give yourself more than a weekend.

Anyway - for those who are interested in the house progress as well as the cheeky wee girl - we're having the hall plastered tomorrow, decorated next weekend and then getting someone in to lay a floor next month. Then we should just about have a hallway we don't need to hide from visitors to our door.

Anyway - while all the work goes on Sophie continues to be a hundred miles an hour and as cheeky as ever.

She's been rolling around the mat and this week rolled from her front to her back expertly. She also managed to get her toes into her mouth and she is at the stage where everything needs to get grabbed and thrown away.

We wrapped her up last weekend and took her out for a long walk. She had a great time as usual even though the weather wasn't very good.

"ready to go yet?"
"Is the giraffe coming as well?"
"loving my new clothes"
Sophie and Katie have had another busy week of visitors - this week it was Noan and Hazel. Noan joined Mum and Sophie for a wee swim down the pool and then they met Hazel out and about for a bite to eat.

Sophie has had a really spectacularly busy week this week and over the next few weeks Dad is going to be spectacularly busy but we'll try and keep the pics coming.

I think we need another holiday already......

The October week, the bridge holiday between Summer and Christmas - a time to unwind and relax and prepare yourself for the cold, dark winter ahead.

"Holidays - awesome."
So did we hang around and do nothing? No, that's not how we do things around here. We've been mega busy as usual - tidying up the garden, putting photos on the wall, finishing the nursery, selling stuff online, had the electrician round, it's been hectic - but we also made it down to see Gran and Alisdhair before they move from their wee house on the farm down the big town. (Which is an exciting adventure for them both).

Sophie had her first bath in a real bath instead of her little baby tub at home - it has to be said that it's a lot more difficult to hold onto a wriggling baby in a real bath. Although it also has to be said that Dad was holding onto a glass of wine and the camera so had to be told that it was difficult to hold onto a wriggling Sophie ;o)

A trip into town for us all took us to Great Auntie Isobel's where we were fortunate enough to be able to catch up with Emma and Alan as well. Sophie was loving all the attention - even from Daisy the dog.

We took a trip out to the venue for our Wedding to take Sophie to see it - and had a wee lunch whilst we were there. Was really weird to be back 15 months after our wedding with Sophie in tow. The weather wasn't as good as it was on our Wedding day but it was nice to be back.

"what's all the fuss about Mum?"
Evenings were all about being well fed, drinking a glass of wine, sitting in front of the fire and speaking to Gran and Alisdhair along with the cats (gin and tonic) and Lucy the dog.

"Cuddles for Lucy"
A trip to Carradale on the way home took us to see Great Auntie Margaret where Sophie managed to get another sneaky wee cuddle.

Sophie didn't sleep too well when we were away (as she was nearly bursting out of her carry cot) which led to us all being tired so when we got home we decided the time had come for Sophie to move through to her own room. She loves it!

"Is this a King Size?"
On Saturday we visited Sophie's other Gran and Grandad - we had a really big lunch and  some playtime on the floor.

Finally, apart from going some walks and doing some more tidying in the house (including fixing the washing machine again) we were able to sell a chair that was left in the house by the previous occupants. It was an electric riser/recliner and they cost a fortune brand new so we put it online and managed to sell it. The money raised will be put to good use and will hopefully help us get the hallway plastered.

All in all a rather busy week - Just the way we like it. ;o)

October Week

Well, this week coming is my October week holiday from school and we're going to try and fill it with as much excitement, fun company and sleep as we possibly can.

Sophie met Auntie Nicole for a pot of tea on Saturday - the girls had a great time.

"ooh, a whole pot of tea!"
Sophie is also on the move so much these days that sometimes the boot of the car doubles as a changing table. Sophie seems to quite enjoy the novelty.

"What do you mean spare tyre?"
Sophie got to try out her new big girl seat for her pram - the carry cot doesn't really allow a view and if there is one thing Sophie likes it is getting a good look around.

"Check me out!"
Mega cosy
Saturday morning playtime
We also got to go to Strathclyde park and caught up with Emily, Niamh, Andrew and Ewen. They all got really wet on the log flume.

And finally, in this jam packed weekend, we got to catch up with Uncle Paul who took us out for a coffee before Mum, Dad and Sophie trotted off to the dentist.

Sophie's had a busy few days

We started off Sunday with an early start and headed off to Balerno to visit Great Auntie Catherine and Great Uncle Gavin. Claire, Declan, Euan and Erin were also there for the visit which was lovely.
"I'll be ready in a minute - I'm watching Andrew Marr"

A great feed and lots of chat later we packed ourselves up and headed to Longniddry to see Dave, Briony, Freya and Isaac who we hadn't seen for a while. We had a great catch up and got to check out the McLaughlin camper van which was pretty cool although we have no pics sorry!

We got home late on Sunday and Sophie complained cos we were late for her bathtime but we finally nodded off to sleep in preparation for the busy week ahead.

Today was Sophie's second round of immunisations - we missed the last appointment due to a variety of other things going on (hospital stay) so it was time to catch up.

Sophie prepared for the immunisations by reading up on what to expect....

And after once again being an absolute star during the whole "double jag" procedure - Sophie decided she should just chill out.......

And whilst Dad and Grandad mended the washer/dryer Sophie and Mum had some well earned quiet time upstairs.

Sophie was supposed to be going to a Mums and Baby weigh in tomorrow but apparently Princess Anne is coming to our town tomorrow for a visit and the club is cancelled so maybe Sophie will just go up to say hello ;o)
