Drymen Show

Life continues at a pace that can only be described as relentless - but the sun is shining and there are only 5 or so weeks to the school holidays so things are definitely very good indeed - teething and stomach bugs aside.

We were out and about a lot this week and enjoyed a couple of barbecues as well - i hate saying it though but it has been too hot - only because like most people in Scotland we aren't expecting it, don't have air conditioning, swimming pools or the correct clothing.

The fine weather continued through to the weekend were we made our what now become annual visit to the Drymen Show - we knew the thunder storm was coming in the afternoon so we were so early we almost arrived as it was opening - lots of fun to be had and Sophie got to see lots of animals but the highlight was of course an ice cream....

for car seat purposes more than anything else I weighed Sophie today at the gym - 17.2 kg's was the result.

And finally - just a wee update on our veg - our onions, cucumbers, lettuce, carrots, garlic, potatoes and herbs are all making fine progress - i believe that there may also be peppers and peas in there somewhere - I am losing track - lets just see what pops up!

School Fayre.

We hurtle towards June and the countdown to the summer holidays and as we do life gets so busy sometimes that the blog isn't done on a Sunday - sorry! Believe me it frustrates me when it rolls over a week too - and if you tune in on a Sunday night Monday morning I apologise - but the good news is always the fact you get a double post the following week.

Last year I missed the local primary school srping fayre and it was the best event ever apparently - this year I had it in my diary early and I was determined not to miss it. It rained for the first time in ages and the whole event was a bit of a washout. But at least Sophie got her face painted and she got a cake on a stick.

Lauchlan has grown 5 teeth in the last week and a half - he's a busy boy growing very rapidly!

Sophie continues to enjoy the playgym sessions - it is basically just a room full of brilliant gymnastics equipment and you are left to it. Awesome.

Lauchlan continues to want to be awake most of the time so as not to miss all the fun - he also now likes to have a bath with his sister.

Sunshine was back this last week - and we made the most of the front garden for a change.

We also bit the bullet and after three years of suffering the worst fireplace in the whole world  we got a new one - and finally, a fireplace removal that we got some else to do!

Sophie and Lauchlan continue to enjoy their food - yoghurt doesn't always make it into the mouth though.....

Lorna, Iain and their son William are now back in Europe living and working and for a short while they are living local so we have been able to catch up with them - they are all doing well.

And Sophie has met up with Emily and Niamh for the first time in ages - she ended up doing a fashion show - with of course make up, light up shoes and pretty hair. Great to see the girls and Andrea and Ewen.

Sunny days

Got milk.
Been another lightning quick week - I was only at work for 4 days and only three of them had the little people in the building so it should have been a relatively straight forward week however the wee man has been building teeth like there is no tomorrow and sleep has definitley taken a bit of a back seat.

Life goes on however and Sophie and Lauchlan visited a new gymnastics session in the city - Sophie had a great time hanging around.

A symptom of having an incredibly sore mouth and building teeth is that you poop yourself a lot - no wonder! Lauchlan as usual likes to see the funny side of it all though.

The May weather is again playing a blinder - here's hoping that it lasts into June and July this year as well. We have been out in the garden all weekend - just like a Wellington summer day the sun was shining but we still needed hoodies and jackets to protect us from the chill.

Sunday was better though and there was very little wind. We got some great visitors although Sophie was awfully busy with Emily next door - she is turning into a wee girl with her own life - we hardly saw her all afternoon! Even Gran and Grandad coming round failed to snap her out of her playtime.

Fun times all round - here's hoping it continues. Happy sunshine everyone.
