Chaotic fun

Stay away from my corn on the cob!
No words last week sorry about that - this week we are also going to be light on the words I am afraid - it's almost 11 o'clock and nobody is sleeping especially well at the moment.

We have, as usual, had many high points this week - we went out for Saturday night dinner at the local pub - Sophie loved her dessert in particular.

We went to a party for a friend's 40th and they had soft play in their house! Lauchlan found the ball pool and was rescued shortly after this picture was taken as he almost sank without a trace.

And Lauchlan continues to grow - he now enjoys standing watching his bath fill up with the shower head. If only he started enjoying sleep!

To finish with my Mum and Dad came over today to give Katie and I some time to do a few things - it was greatly appreciated and the kids loved seeing them both. Whilst here my Dad mentioned the Learning Journal and I said I barely check it now because the quality of the posts are so poor - often they have pictures not even showing Sophie!

But here are a few of the best posts from the last 5 months.

February holiday

We kick off with Sophie's first ventures into photography - here she has taken a photo of her dolls in her dolls house. Seems like a suspicious gathering to photograph but she wanted to take a picture so she did, on my phone. I have subsequently deleted it in case anyone wonders what I was doing.

So I am now on another wee holiday from work - Friday, Monday, Tuesday off which is nice. We decided to visit Finlaystone park with Olivia and Jane - it was brilliant. We had a lot of fun and definitley think we will be back - we didn't take anywhere near enought photos to do it justice but here are a few.

Lauchlan has started his adventures with food this week - just simple things like banana - we aren't feeding him, we are just letting him play for now. The floor is more of a mess than usual let's leave it at that.

On Sunday we decided to go for a trip on the train - we have taken Sophie on the train before but she won't remember it - it was when she was 6 weeks old and we were off to the Commonwealth games. So we went off on a big adventure today to go to the Museum on the train, turns out we also had to do the underground. Double excitement.

Sophie decided as soon as she got on the train she wanted a sandwich - just like her Mum and Dad.

This was Lauchlan's very first time on the train and as usual he just took it in his stride.

More photos to follow hopefully......but a great adventure for everyone.

A new month begins and Lauchlan starts experimenting with food

Mum's new slippers are very cosy.

It's February (just in case you haven't noticed) Lauchlan is getting on really well but he is pretty grumpy again at nights at the moment - no new teeth have been spotted but they may well be on their way.

Whilst we continue to ponder if thats the reason he is grumpy we are also seeing if he is as interested in eating as he looks as if he is - just giving him really soft banana and vegetables to lick and play with - most of it goes on the floor to be honest.

We have had a very busy weekend and Sophie is knackered tonight - really needed a nap today but she still can't bring herself to admit it some days.

Anyway - Uncle Paul and Auntie Nicole were over visiting Sophie and Lauchlan on Saturday and Gran, Grandad and Uncle Paul were over on Sunday. This was great because not only did the kids have lots of great company but Mum and Dad were able to spend a bit of time doing something else which was nice.

here is Uncle Paul getting a cuddle before we all went to the park and got really really muddy.

Earlier on in the week Sophie and her friends went to the Riverside Museum and went looking for pirates on the Tall ship - they scrubbed the decks and everything. Fun time had by all.

Lauchlan had a wee visit to Mummy;'s work and saw Uncle Ewen whilst he was there.

Now Sophie has always been very caring and close to her brother - she now however likes to get in and share his tiny baby bath with him. Very cute. As you will see from some of the photos to follow we are also noticing how alike Sophie and Lauchlan are beginning to look.
