Happy birthday Mum - we went out for dinner and then came home for some cake. Here is Sophie sharing a "cocktail" with Mum and then feeding Mum some imaginary cake before bed.

A long trip for dad.
Dad had a long journey today - he was off to Inverness to tutor the pro-youth footballers at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium. The bus was 3 and a half hours up, I tutored for 2 hours and then headed straight back down.
The bus company made it all sound so glamorous - free tea and coffee - free wi-fi, air conditioned coach. Sounds great - until you realise that coffee served on a bus is honking, that once you upload or download anything the free wi-fi locks you out and on the return trip they were going to put you on an older style coach that didn't have wi-fi or air conditioning. At least they still managed to find some rubbish coffee for the way back.
The girls were left to fend for themselves today and by all accounts had a wonderful time - Mum took Sophie to the shops for breakfast and then over to Gran and Grandad's for some playtime to allow Mum to do a wee bit of shopping for Sophie's birthday.
Yesterday when we were all together we had another great wee Saturday - we went up to Mugdock country park where Sophie made herself at home on the wee red sofa in the cafe. She enjoyed blowing bubbles in her water using her straw - and she enjoyed a wee packet of potato snacks.
Whilst at Mugdock we also had a look around the stables where Mummy used to work. Sophie loved saying hello to all the horses. She fed a couple of them carrots and talked about how lovely they were. By the end of the visit she wanted to get on a horse - we have told her that she may get a shot of a pony (well, sit on one) when we go on holiday.
A visitor came to see Sophie on Friday - Katie's friend Joanne's wee one - Blake Brown (Joanne is a brown too)
Blake loved cuddling Sophie and playing with her toys - Sophie enjoyed the visit.
Another friend of Sophie's is Olivia - they have been friends since
birth and are quite the girls about town heading off to gymnastics
together.
All in all another fast week - and we are rapidly approaching Sophie's 2nd birthday and with that we will be about 8 weeks away from a second wee bundle of fun arriving into our lives. Hope you are all well - see you all son hopefully.
p.s. - i have went into last week's post and added some text if you are interested in looking back. ;o)

Caring for the poor bird, spring fayre and the television man
Sophie had a great wee visit to the garden centres last week, Gran came with us and spent most of her time having a laugh with Sophie - especially in this swinging chair. (we didn't buy it) Sophie also loved the bouncy castle in the car park - she was as usual fearless.
We also had a wee bit of excitement in the garden - we went to put the bins out and found a wee starling chick hidden behind the bins. Sophie was very interested and we didn't know what to do but we got it some water and some bread whilst Mum phoned the local vet and the SSPCA. We were advised to leave it where it was and its Mummy would find it. So we did.
Sophie really enjoyed her dinner this evening as well, must have been burning all that energy off.
Sophie also got to go to the local primary school for the spring fayre. Daddy was desperate to go but had to stay in for the television man. He missed out big time - there were bouncy castles, animals, lots of people and a fund big tent that nobody wanted to play in apart from Sophie.
By the time she got home and the television was fixed her and Dad deserved a wee lie down.
