Laughs and holidays

Sophie has had another week of fun - she has also been spending more time in the new big girls and boys nursery room- this week is going to be her first full week in there. Here's hoping it is going to go well. She has also been teething a bit again this week - this final tooth seems to be taking its time to appear.

Sophie has been having some great laughs over the last couple of weeks though and the other day she came out of the bath and she decided to start screaming and laughing. Very soon we were all laughing - Mum also got some special post laughing cuddles.

Sophie has a new hat - just in time for summer - just as well she is wearing a vest and Dad's sunglasses.

Sophie has been trying Mum's boots on this week....

And Gran came with us to the garden centres in Lanark - Sophie had a brilliant time on the bouncy castle ran by the grumpy old lady.  By the time we went into the garden centre Sophie was ready for a seat.

Breakfast on Saturday was meant to be a relaxing start to the weekend - it was alll going swimmingly until I found a big piece of rubber in my cereal. I shall be seeking some sort of muesli related compensation.

Finally - here are some photographs that I have finally managed to process after returning from our holiday at Easter. Hope u like them.

learning journal last week.

Sophie is about to move up to the older kids room - a big transition - she had a couple of setling in days this week and took it in her stride. Big move next week - could be a challenging time for her.

It's May!

All of a sudden it is May and we are only just over a month from celebrating Sophie's second birthday - time is flying past but we are still making plenty of time for fun!

Sophie went out with Mum on Saturday to the shops and stopped for snacks at the cafe in Next. She loved being up high. Talking of being up high - Sophie is now 88cm tall. If we doubled her height she would be starting to get up to her Mum's height.

We visited our friends Cammy and Kate this weekend - their son Jack was great letting Sophie play with his toys but he also has some chicks staying with him this week as his Mum is a Head Teacher at a primary school. Sophie got to meet them - she loved them!

We also managed to put together a trailer for the bike - which has been very kindly loaned to us by Alan and Pam - we haven't got it completely right yet, and Sophie didn't want the cover on but she really enjoyed a spin down to the Loch.

A free gift with a magazine this week caused some excitement - Sophie got her first recorder. It should be noted (pun intended of course) that there is musical pedigree in the Oman family - Sophie's Auntie Gill is a fabulous musician and it should be added that Sophie's Mum is able to get some remarkable tunes out of what is really just a crappy bit of plastic with some holes in it. Sophie likes to practice in the early mornings, in her pyjamas, with Baba.

What a holiday!

So I have been keeping you kind of updated with some uploads from my phone but I haven't offered any explanation or even started to process the images from my camera so it is the holiday that keeps on giving.

Sophie had an absolute ball - she loved being in the "holiday house" and loved the following things in particular:

1) Pretending to go to sleep in the top bunk bed.

2) Walking "Lucy Dog" (it should be said that Sophie is faster than Lucy Dog these days so it was pretty much as safe as walking a dog can get.)

3) Seeing the lambs in the field

4) Going out for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks

5) Spending so much time with Gran Hilary

6) Playing the piano and bossing Mum and Dad about to do the same

7) Going to see the golf club

8)  Playing hide and seek down the beach before bedtime

9) Being down the beach collecting shells and racing sticks in the river

10) Seeing Aunt Margaret

11) Visiting the shop every morning to buy bakers rolls

12) Going to the playpark

13) Trying to get the horses in the field to come and get some carrots

14) And a ton of other things that are far too numerous too mention!

Needless to say we are back home having had a wonderful time and we can't wait until the summer when we will have another holiday to enjoy with out wonderful wee girl.  (lots more photos to follow over the coming weeks)
