Holiday

So for a variety of reasons we decided to holiday in Scotland this year - so we toddled off down to the "Holiday house" in Carrdale. Sophie really does love it down there and talks about it all the time.

Here is Sophie having some snacks on the way down to Carradale - she is in the drivers seat and Dad is outside getting wet.

We took Sophie to the Carradale playgroup end of term party and she had an absolute blast -playing with the other kids and exploring the village hall. oh yes and of course eating cake.

we also went out on a horrible wet day with Uncle David, cousin Emma and Granny Hilary to the playpark in Machriahanish.

The highlight of the holiday however was getting to meet and ride on baby Amber the pony. Sophie still talks about baby Amber - usually when she is getting Dad to pretend to be baby Aber and ordering him around the house - "get in the field baby Amber".

Sophie rode baby Amber down the beach and in the water for about a mile and a half - amazing - she fed Amber some carrots as a reward for being a good girl.

Sophie spent lots of time in Carrdale's fun park - she learned to dingle dangle off of most things - including the high up chute - aaargh.
When the weather was bad (every day) we found some time to bake some cakes - these are  cupcakes that we made that we put "Frozen" stickers on. "Let it go, Let it go - and all that"

Sophie of course got to see Lucy Dog again and she loved giving big cuddles.

Sophie fed lots of horses on our visit  - baby Amber can be seen in the background here. This horse was a bit pushy. We also got to see Rupert the horse who was lonely because his partner had died recently - he loved seeing Sophie.

Sophie also fell in love with football on this holday although she had absolutely no interest of kicking the ball in the goal - should make a real success of a career in Scotland then ;o)

These photos are from our first stop on our holiday at Tarbet - we were rained on and eaten by midges. hooray.

These are some shots of Sophie speaking to the Mummy cows and baby cows - we spent a lot of time with them and really enjoyed it.

And the highlight of the trip - have a guess - here Sophie is on baby Amber - lots more photos to follow.

And finally some more football this time in the front garden of Bayview - Sophie especially liked it when I pretended to be Ronaldo and dive about on the grass, falling over for no real reason.

Learning journal is not as well updated in the new room.

A hilarious photo showing how Sophie is settling in to the new nursery room - she is definitely starting to develop her own personality and it is a very funny one. She would have been very assertive that she wanted to sit at the back and wear her hat. The photo makes it look as if she has been naughty and sent to the back though.

A busy couple of weeks

Lorna (from Lorna and Iain fame) is currenty back in Scotland for a visit and she brought baby William (Sophie says wee baby william). It was great to see her and we can't wait to see her again before she returns to NZ.

Katie and I managed a wee night out recently (thanks to Gran Irene) - we toddled off to see Coldplay at Hampden. It was a brilliant gig made even more brilliant by us asking to move into the seats to give Katie a seat (at 7 months pregnant) and when they said yes we ended up in an area just in front of some big VIPS and at the end of the gig Coldplay setup a wee stage next to our seats to play the encore. Fabulous.

We also managed out for a wee Italian last week - Sophie was adamant she was having sausage - there was nearly a disaster when the only sausage available was spicy.

Birthday fun - explanations to follow.

Sophie's birthday now feels like a million years ago but it has only been a fortnight - sorry for the delay in updating this.

Sophie had a fantastic birthday - thanks to everyone for gifts, cards etc - they were all greatly appreciated. Sophie got some fantastic playdough toys - here she is cutting playdough hair with Mummy. In these photos she was also producing the thank you goody bag tags for her wee guests.

Gran and Grandad came round on Sophie's birthday and the weather was so good we ate outside and cooked a barbecue.

Sophie got a real blast from opening her presents this year - much more exciting ripping paper open than it was last year.

Sophie got a checkout for her birthday - we are setting her career aspirations pretty high we have to say- checkout supervisor at least by the age of 12.

Sophie and her wee pal Olivia enjoying some drinks in the sun after a bit of bouncing on the trampoline.

Sophie and baby Blake

Sophie made Daddy a card for his birthday - it was brilliant.
