A street party and some sunshine.

When Daddy goes to work this lot always have fun but on Friday they decided to go to the Safari Park - and they had a great time without the need to battle against crowds.

Two Hungry Horaces waiting for the sea lion show.

When they finally made it home Dad got the barbecue on the go - everyone was so busy playing Dad eventually just sat down himself with a beer and had a couple of sausages.

On Saturday the plan was to get the bikes out and go for a ride before a wee street party we were going to so we pumped up all the tyres and Sophie helped me. We didn't watch the royal wedding by the way.

Getting ready for the party.
Our neighbour Alison has bought a new place to stay and is moving out of the street - she has been here for 40 years and since we arrived in the street she has always been really nice to us. Really glad the neighbours rallied together for a wee send off.

A quick Sunday visit to soft play before dinner.

Katie found a rare photo of her from her childhood - look like anyone we know?

Fun, fun, fun in the sun, sun, sun,

Well I did say "words to follow" I just didn't realise it would take me a week!

A lot of the photos speak for themselves of course so I will just fill in some blanks

Sophie having some great times with great friends - she had a sleep over at her friends Olivia's with her Mum  - the boys were left to fend for themselves.....oh dear.

The shorts are on.

Visiting an ambulance at the local Primary school Spring Fair.

Uncle Paul came to visit in the sunshine.

Lauchlan can now confidently scooter - he did get two grazed knees though

Arthur getting looked after by Sophie.

The potatoes are now planted

Quick Lauchlan - there are muffins in this store somewhere

The longest chute I have ever seen holds no fear for Lauchlan.

Sophie is going great guns on her balance bike.

May the 4th be with us.

This week starts off with Lauchlan's obsessiveness about diggers - and it just so happens a lot of work is going on down at the nursery - never one to be shy we asked if Lauchlan could get a shot. he was a natural.

We also managed to get one other thing sorted out this week.......................

Lauchlan's hair has been out of control for some time but with this wee haircut he has now been transformed into a right trendy wee boy. Thanks to Jane for the cool styling.

These kids just like hanging out some days and watching the telly - the current favourite is a show called Biggleton. (where children play all the characters in a wee town).

Sophie, Dad and Lauchlan made the most of some early Sunday sunshine and headed to the park before we headed to see some animals. There was a lot of excitement at the animal park - Lauchlan loved the giraffes and elephants - Sophie loved the bird show and the ice lolly.

In other news this week Sophie has been practicing on her balance bike - for those of you who don't know a balance bike is just an expensive bike without pedals so that children can master the feeling of balancing before they have to worry about the whole pedalling thing (and saves then from getting cracked on the shin bone) (and yes, you can just buy a bike and remove the pedals)

And finally Lauchlan has taken to wanting to throw himself around a lot wherever he goes - this week it has mostly been on the trampoline.
