The holidays!

It's the start of the holidays so hopefully this will result in a bumper amount of photos.

here is Sophie enjoying a wet day down the park with Dad - just before she ended up falling into the muddiest of puddles - she laughed and so did I although I had to carry her home and I got soaked as well.

Here is Sophie having some fun - and pretending to be a bit of a diva on the front doorstep. (whilst eating a cracker of course)

And then........ there is another adventure in town - Sophie is hopefully going to have a wee brother or sister on or around August 20th (all being well) - we have just had our 20 week scan and everything is going very well. I never fail to be amazed by these scans - they are so detailed and clear - I could watch them all day.

You may have spied a previous post about our announcement that disappeared but that was only on for two days before we decided to keep it to ourselves a wee bit longer.

At the moment Sophie is such a caring sort she will love the company but at the same time - how will she cope with someone else having some of the spotlight? Only time will tell.....

Happy Easter

A busy old week this week ended with Good Friday and Easter Monday holidays which were much needed.

This weekend we have been swimming, visited Cammy the turtle at Sealife centre again, been down the park and Sophie had a sleepover at Gran and Grandad's which let Katie and I go out for a great meal, head out to the movies and spend a day getting the house a bit more organised.

Here we are altogether at the cafe after Dad got to attend Monkey Music for the first time - a great way to spend a Friday morning.

Cheers Mum.

In this week's local newspaper we are trying to work out if Sophie made her first appearance - we think she did but we cannot decide for sure and we can't work out where the photo was taken - we are happy if it is her but we will be asking at nursery to see if she has now been having her own adventures when we aren't looking! Supporting charities and all that - quite the philanthropist.

The rest of the time we tried to chill out as much as we could - even when we were just lounging around the house.

And then on Easter Monday Sophie got to have not one, but two Easter egg hunts!

First of all Auntie Nicole and Uncle Paul provided a really brilliant egg hunt at Gran and Grandad's - then when Sophie got home the pesky Easter bunny had hidden some treats in the front garden. Sophie had a great time hunting down the treats.

She also had a great time eating a wee chocolate egg once we got back into the warmth of the house.

We have another quick week this week and then it is the real holidays - which this year they are calling Spring Break because Easter has already been. The world has gone a wee bit mad.

learning journal this week

And the fun continues

This was a week of many things - first of all new things - Sophie has always liked swings but has went off them recently - however going to the park on Saturday she asked to try the big swing. She was amazing! I have a short video that I will upload when I get the chance but she was rocking her body back and forward to get the swing to move. She was even happy to jump off the swing when finished.

Sophie also used her potty for the first time this week - I will spare you the photographic evidence but she asked to use it and Mummy let her. First and only so far but she knows what she is doing.

Sophie's words continue apace and she said today "No Mummy, that's my dinner." She is starting to form all sorts of sentences and she can pretty much say any word - so we have to be careful what we say - for example she has already repeated "Oh God" and "you're mad".

Now for old things - Sophie must have been photographed in a peppa pig car about a dozen times but it never really gets old. Here she is in the one at the shops.

Moving on from old things to sprightly young things - it was both Gran's birthdays this week and we were able to get along to Glasgow Gran's on Friday for a birthday meal.

Sophie has been practicing blowing out candles but was a bit uncertain on the day - apologies to both my Mum and Sophie for a harshly lit photo.

Sophie was at Gran's on Thursday after a week where both Gran and Grandad hadn't been feeling very well - Sophie continually talked about them "getting better" and going to the "doctor".

At Gran's Sophie got involved in feeding the birds and watering the plants.

Sophie finished the week with a wee trip to the soft play with her friend Olivia - a great time was had by all - especially when whizzing down the chute.
