going potty

It's been a long winter and we have all been going a little bit potty however Lauchlan has been going the mot potty and now no longer wears nappies during the day - just almost kind of all of a sudden. It has been quite incredible but then our kids never cease to amaze us.

Sophie has recently been telling me all about the solar system with information about how Pluto is a dwarf planet and is no longer counted a one of the 8 big planets in the Milky Way. I absolutely love the fact t she gives a monkeys about things like planets - well done Sophie.

Building work continues and will drag on until the end of March at the earliest - it has been a long slog but is starting to look really good.

The kids continue to play builders and have lots of fun with pencils behind their ears but I am sure they will also be glad when it's all over and we can get out in the garden again to look for snails. We recently go out to a zoo and the most popular things at the zoo were some old diggers, a train and some bumper cars.

our wee family

Not much to report this week I have to say - but that can often be a good thing. It has been freezing cold and opportunities for outdoor fun have been limited - we are also fairly restricted in the house again due to the work being done in the dining room - i didn't realise how claustrophobic it would be being stuck in the living room for meals every day and being restricted for play opportunities without the garden.

The good news however is that we nearing the end - all the windows are now in at the back of the house, the floor goes down next week then the kitchen is going in. The funniest story is that the guy doing the plastering for our house if Davie who used to live downstairs from us in Scotstoun - a small world as they say.

We are all making ourselves scarce whilst the floor is going down so Katie and the kids are visiting Gran Hillary whilst Dad will see how the rest of the week goes and then maybe pop down on the bus.

Here is the work to date and some fun photos from this week:

Finally , something to really laugh at - i went back to a new karate club today for the first time since Sophie was born and i survived intact. We went swimming with the kids before dinner and Sophie's chin bashed into my nose......a right sore yin!\
