The 'nest' we are staying in is fantastic, yes it is rustic but our own wee bungalow on stilts high up in the hills is serene. It is a tiny complex with a new pool and lots of little open air huts for all sorts of hippyish things like yoga, mediation and stuff like that (we have bypassed all that nonsense and taking some R&R by the pool).
Having discovered Steph's phobia of all things small and creepy I am re-considering his recent proposal!! Having said that, we will have another few months of getting used to bugs and the likes when we are camping in Oz!!

p.s (from Steph) I do not have a phobia of small and creepy things (unless you mean Gary Glitter) but I do admit to being a bit scared of dying from Malaria - and just "not really liking" small creepy creatures eating crisps next to the bed at night. ;o)
I can vouch for Steph's fearlessness in the face of beasties - he helped me with a spider the size of a Shetland Pony a few weeks ago. He chased it with a spear while I tried to catch it in a net. I'm not joking, it was massive. Sure it had already eaten some of the neighbourhood kids (the wrong ones, sadly).
ReplyDeleteAnd it's probably a good idea for both of you to start getting paranoid about bugs now before you reach Australia and every second one of them is poisonous...
Speak to you soon,
P.

Hi Noan,
ReplyDeleteOk point taken about the coke and crisps - but they were a small treat for a couple of delirious travellers before we got on a long bus journey to Chiang Dao. We needed something to see us through the 90 minute journey and (as usual) the easiest thing was the least healthy but we would have been taking a risk eating anything prepared at the bus station. ;o)
p.s. Hey anonymous - I am not a big girls blouse!
