The Commonwealth Games

A long time ago (not in a galaxy far far away but before we were thinking about the possibility of having a baby) we applied for a lot of Commonwealth Games tickets. We ended up getting £800 + worth of tickets. And then we found out we would have a 7 week old baby by the time the Games started.

Things have worked out really well though - we have kept a few tickets and sold the rest at face value which has been great.

It has also been great that we've just had to go for it and get on with getting out and about with Sophie - I think it'll stand us all in good stead. We thought we were pushing things a bit but tonight at Hampden there were so many babies between 3-9 weeks old that we figured many others were in the exactly the same position as us.

Heading to the netball - on the hottest day of the year.
We did stay and watch some netball - honest!

"Trains delayed - yeah whatever."
A wee Commonwealth Games Barbecue in our garden.
After the excitement of a day out at the netball at the SECC, the next event on the schedule was Athletics at Hampden - after a lot of deliberating we decided just to drive and abandon the car close to Hampden. Turned out to be a great decision although there was a bit of a queue to get in and hanging around in the sunshine again was a bit of a test. Have to say though that I thought that things went really smoothly and apart from a few things I think they've done very well at Hampden.
