As we hurtle into March and it starts to get lighter in the evenings we are all getting excited about the summer coming - especially Sophie who is hoping to get down the beach clearly.

Sophie and Daddy were on their own on Saturday night and Dad had great plans for a foot painting party - it went really really well.......although Sophie looks seriously unimpressed. ;o)
Sophie and Daddy also ventured out into the garden for the first time in what feels like absolutely ages to clear some leaves and get prepared for barbecue season. Sophie enjoyed helping and loved brushing the leaves all over the place.
Here is a black and white version of the photo we took a few weeks back - i really like this - full marks to Katie for the idea.
Our friend Ewen's athletics club was hosting a Strathclyde Park "parkrun" on Saturday and we decided to head over to a) support his event and b) to break my duck of doing these types of runs - I had always planned to do this at some stage so it was good motivation.
It was a 5k timed run - I haven't really ran much and I had unfortunately found the energy/motivation to go for a long run on Friday night so an early morning fast 5k wasn't exactly what I was ready for. However, Katie and Sophie came along to support and they even managed to walk/run 1.5k! and Sophie qualified for a bite of home baking at the end.
I managed a just about respectable time of 24.14 - 73rd overall and 13th in my age category. Not bad for not doing much recently. here is an action shot taken by Ewen.
And here is the aftermath, and what happens when you don't run very often, wear the wrong socks and run through big puddles. ouch.
On Friday of this week Sophie and Mummy visited with Aunt Judy and Uncle Robin - Sophie had an amazing time playing with baby Izzy and also finding lots of things to play with.
Sophie had a Sunday party to attend. Sophie's friend Finlay had his 2nd birthday party this weekend and Sophie had an absolutely amaxing time playing with lots of other kids and eating lots of cake.
So - things are still going very well for all of us - and Sophie is sleeping better.... when she is sleeping - however she is currently teething again. She has one of her molars that has come through and we are now waiting for another. She doesnt let it ruin her day though - just plays havoc with her sleep.
