A new addition to the family!

We bought our tree this weekend (photos to follow) so Christmas mania has definitely begun - but before we can even begin to get even a wee bit excited about that we have been using up all our excitement on the early arrival of Sophie and Lauchlan's wee cousin Arthur.

In what was a bit if a surprise early appearance, Arthur and his Mum have been absolutely brilliant - Uncle Paul has done pretty well so far as well. Just wait until he starts his blog!

Everyone is absolutely overwhelmed by the news - such excitement - can't wait to see more of this little man and his Mum and Dad when the dust settles.

The end of Gran Hilary's time with us found everyone in the Science Centre - everyone had an amazing time - apart from Daddy of course who was stuck in work ;o( Great to see Gran Hilary and hopefully see her again either before or during the Christmas holidays.

We are entering a very busy period of nights out and visits to see Santa so there should be plenty to keep you posted on - can't believe that's almost another year done. Come to think of it - I think next year is the 10th year of the blog - blimey.

here comes christmas!

We have had some fun this week - it is the run up to Christmas - it has officially started by the way if you didn't know it. Is it just me or as an adult is there absolutely nothing fun about spending all your money and shopping in sub-zero wet weather? Thank goodness for the internet.

Anyway - we were able to reduce our focus on Christmas by increasing focus on Grandad who had a birthday this week - thankfully we were able to have a wee treat night out down the pub for us all. Good times.

We continue to get fruit and veg deliveries every week when Dad is in school and Dad can remember to pay his money. This week we found a creative way to use the boxes.

I promised Mum some time to go to the salon and get her nails done - she didn't realise the trainee stylist would be Sophie. She did a wonderful job. ;o)

The photo below is of our wee girl in a wee carriage - a carousel cunningly placed outside Dobbies. £2  a go - we sneaked Lauchlan and Mummy on there too and didn't pay any more. Terrible isn't it! Erm no.

This photo was taken a week or so back in Mugodock Park wood

And this photo is of our crazy boy who just loves life - even when he is teething and grumpy.

Gran Hilary has been up visiting which has caused great excitement - unfortunately for Gran she has had her hands full!

A quiet week and a celebration

A quick week this week as we hurtle towards a busy month - Dad had some late nights, lots of work to do and he finished the working week with a volleyball tournament where you get to drink lots in between games - and sometimes in between points!

Eating on their own these days

A wee celebration and a happy family

Still having fun!

The cold weather isn't holding us back

Ok everyone - it's cold - see you later!

Cold and bleak

Wow - since the clocks went back it's like the temperature also got wound back - freezing!

Nothing else for it in this weather other than trying to stay warm and have as much fun as possible before the mayhem of Christmas is upon us.

Sophie and Mum hung out at the church

We had a singing competition

And we watched movies in the home cinema experience

We constructed our own soft play

And we sat and just chilled out.

See you all next week - when I might have more time to write - my first assignment for University was due to be submitted tonight and now it is away I have to go and get some sleep before work tomorrow. G'night!

Halloween and Guy Fawkes

On paper it's a great week in the calendar - in reality it kind of becomes a race to get to some sort of state of being organised  enough to enjoy the moment that actually is over in a flash.

I have been busy at work, Katie has been busy doing things with the flat - but we did our best and the kids seemed to have a good time. Sophie and Lauchlan have both been pretty tired - since the clocks changed they seemed to want to get up every day at 5am - no matter when they went to bed - so we also tried to catch up on some sleep.

For Halloweeen Sophie and Lauchlan had some parties during the day but when Dad got home from work and everyone was exhausted there was a pretty fast and furious dinner and then a race to get people into party mode again.

Dad tried his best to recreeate some of his favourite Halloween games and then we hit the streets - albeit much earlier than we were anticipating and as it turns out, earlier than the local houses were anticipating.

The rest of the week was all about whether to do fireworks or not and eventually we decided to get  some to do at home. We had two happy wee kids staring out Sophie's window whilst Dad froze a wee bit out in the garden lighting some low noise, cheap fireworks from the supermarket. Over in 15 minutes but definitely worth doing. There are no photos it was that fast but good memories none the less.

Good times continue to roll...........
