Halloween party

I think I forgot to put this one up of Sophie and her friends at their Halloween party. These guys and gals have been together since birth - a great wee gang.

Halloween

Happy Halloween (if you are into that kind of thing). Seems like Halloween has got a lot more about being scary than when I was a kid dressing up as a space invaders machine to get a prize at the Cubs party. Thanks Mum and Dad ;o)

Sophie started the week as usual at Grans but when she went to nursery she made some scary Halloween cookies. Unfortunately not gluten free so I couldn't enjoy all the sugary goodness.

Katie had put a lot more effort into Halloween than me - to be honest my week at work was mental, I think that the full moon and anticipation of Halloween itself was enough to drive everyone around the bend. You wouldn't believe it if I told you everything that happened this week.

However, I am happy that Katie did go to a lot of trouble and we were all prepared to accept guisers to our house - Sophie was loving the party atmosphere even though nobody came to us before we had to venture out ourselves (before Sophie's bedtime). We have a lot of sweets left to eat in our house - maybe they will keep until next year?

We visited 4 houses around our street and Sophie charged into every house looking for something to eat - so much so we had to basically burst through the door of every house to make sure she didn't cause too much trouble.

The following photos are of Sophie in our house waiting for guisers - there are lots of them - quite a few of the blurry cos it was so dark. And dark as it happens is a new word for Sophie, as is snacks. Hope these photos don't frighten you too much!

After our Halloween adventures Sophie went to spend Sunday with Gran and Grandad to allow Katie and I to try and get close to finishing the spare room decorating that I started a couple of weeks ago. You won't remember the decor but imagine 1970's green and orange and you are about right. 

We still have to wallpaper one wall a funky colour and furnish the whole room, oh and get a new carpet.......and buy curtains. I have already removed a fireplace, stripped the walls and we had plasterer in but it was taking a while to get done. We are almost there.........we really did appreciate the time and space to get this far though.

Dad's graduation

I mentioned in the last post about my Dad's graduation but it really deserves its own post - Dad has worked tirelessly for the last 5 years to achieve his Bsc (Hons) Degree and Sophie in particular (and all the rest of us of course) are very proud, and were very privileged, to be part of his big day through in Edinburgh to celebrate.

On a side note we bumped into Susan Boyle at a set of traffic lights - but she didn't ask for my Dad's autograph.

The clocks go back but time marches on - and Grandad graduates

Sophie has been really busy as usual this week - the start of this week was back to normal with a trip to Gran's on Monday and disrupted sleep for Mum and Dad on Monday and Tuesday! Nursery on Tuesday morning, Gran in the afternoon. Then nursery again on Wednesday morning and Gran in the afternoon joined by Grandad for dinner. Then on Thursday and Friday Sophie usually just spends time with Mum but this week Sophie and Mum took a trip to North Queensferry to meet Noan.

Noan took Sophie to the beach and she had lots of fun.

On Saturday Sophie paid a visit to Edinburgh to see Grandad graduate from the Open University with a Bsc Honours Degree - Well done Grandad from Sophie and everyone else in the family. We had a great wee day out and a lovely dinner.

On Sunday we were chilling out and trying to get our head around the clocks going back already - needless to say that Sophie hasn't really experienced much of a change - she was still up first thing.....as were we.

But we did get ourselves out and about to the park and took a couple of photos....

And back home Sophie has her hands full looking after all the babies in the house - this is her taking them out on the "choo choo" train that is just one of her toys turned upside down.
