Sophie starts school and Lauchlan isn't a baby any more..........

August - a really really momentous month the started really getting fun when school started back because Sophie was starting primary school - how exciting! Lauchlan was also about to turn three years old and Daddy was in for a surprise at work.

First things first - Sophie started school and just settled straight into it - she has been helped by knowing the majority of the class before she started - just something that i can't remember having the luxury of. Her personality has really helped her settle but she feels comfortable and I am glad we have done everything we can to smooth the path for her. So proud of her.

As are all her family - really pleased that Gran and Grandad Brown were able to come along and enjoy the morning with us just a shame I had to head to work - one of the parents suggested we all go for a pint and a lunch - that would have been nice!

I should mention that as Sophie started school Lauchlan began a change for himself as well, not only had his sister left nursery, he had moved up to the big room in nursery and also began his new schedule of being in nursery every morning. He has also been amazing and taken it completely in his stride.

Katie sneaked in for some of the lesson.

Grandad has a night vision camera in the garden to catch visitors in the night - he has photographed and vidoed foxes and birds and all sorts of stuff. The kids love catching up with whats been found.

Our garden continues to be an absolute riot - since the garage has been pulled down we have had most of our stuff living  in the playhouse or under tarpaulin. I had started to build a base for the shed and all of a sudden a coincidence meant that next door were getting some tree work done and all of a sudden our three trees have disappeared. Apologies to the tree guys (i don't think they had reached surgeon status) however the experienced the wrath of the wasps who were eating all of our apples. Sorry guys. When Katie said the guys had been complaining about being stung I thought we had underpaid them - turns out it was the other kind of sting. The garden has now opened up nicely and now I need to dig out another base for the shed, trim a tree, beat the wasps, tidy up the apples and many many other things then we can buy and build a shed.

Lauchlan Brown has never slept that well and wakes up regularly every night - we didn't need Grandads night vision but we made this late evening discovery one night.

And just like that Lauchlan turned 3 - we had booked a church hall for the bash and before I get to the party information and the photos I must say thank you to everyone who helped - especially my Mum and Auntie Jean who were on their feet all day and worked their socks off in the kitchen preparing food for our guests, I think next year we may have the event catered. Sorry Mum and Auntie Jean but it was brilliant.

Everyone seemed to have a great time and Lauchlan loved all of his presents - thank  you to everyone he was a very very happy boy (and still is.)

Thanks also especially to Auntie Karen  - who made the most incredible double cake - thanks Karen -  it was commented on by everyone and i am assured it tasted as good as it looks.

Gran Hilary stayed with us recently as Gran Irene jetted off to warmer places - it was great to see her and the kids always love having a wee bake off with her.

So now Lauchlan is three he is acting like he is 13 - all cool and trendy with his new haircut and attitude. There is no stopping this boy, just like his sister he is full of confidence and ready for the world.
